I was in the top 10% of my graduating class and scored very well on the SAT. I would recommend studying very hard, performing well in high school, and taking plenty of college prep. courses. Taking an SAT course would help.

If you REALLY want to attend this school, gain residency first so that you don't have to pay the out-of-state tuition. The in-state tuition is a rip-off.

If you're a foreign student--- even a non-humanities student-- go somewhere else. I am an American and I was treated like an enemy foreigner.Foreign students don't seem to get much better treatment. I know a LOT of foreign UNCC students. Most are angry and disillusioned.

Study hard, think ahead, self-relying, and most importantly, you must know what you want to do in Computer Science. Do not rely too much on Professors, only when needed. Do not abuse this aspect and expect professors to help you with your every problem, including rediculous excuses such as "I can't understand program's requirements", "I don't understand how the 'for', 'while', 'do...while', 'if-else if' work", "I compiled the program but I don't understand why it gave me wrong result(s)", etc..
